Launch a Website Without Missing a Critical Step

Use one launch sequence for files, database, domain, HTTPS, email, forms, backups and final verification before cancelling the old service.

Written by HostPora Academy Team · Technical review by HostPora Technical Review · Updated Nov 5, 2026

Step 1

Prepare the destination

Create the hosting account, confirm the runtime version and take a source backup before copying any production data.

  1. 1Record source access
  2. 2Export files and database
  3. 3Lower DNS TTL in advance
Step 2

Verify before DNS changes

Use a temporary URL or local hosts-file preview where supported. Test navigation, forms, sign-in, checkout and administration against the copied data.

  1. 1Check internal links
  2. 2Submit every form
  3. 3Compare key database records
Step 3

Switch and observe

Update DNS only after verification. Keep the previous service online during propagation and recheck HTTPS, email routing and background jobs.

  1. 1Watch DNS resolution
  2. 2Issue the certificate
  3. 3Monitor logs and forms

Common questions

Resolve the details before changing production.

When should I cancel old hosting?+

Cancel only after DNS has settled, the destination works and the final data has been reconciled.

Why lower DNS TTL before migration?+

A shorter TTL reduces how long resolvers keep the old answer when you later change the record.

What should I test after launch?+

Test public pages, forms, login, payment flows, email delivery, scheduled jobs and backups.
