Set Up a Website Account in DirectAdmin

Create the domain, database, SSL certificate and scheduled tasks through the correct DirectAdmin access level.

Written by HostPora Academy Team · Technical review by HostPora Technical Review · Updated Nov 2, 2026

Step 1

Confirm the access level

DirectAdmin shows user, reseller or administrator tools according to your account. Website owners usually work from the user level.

  1. 1Select user level
  2. 2Confirm assigned package
  3. 3Review account usage
Step 2

Create website dependencies

Add the domain, database and database user before installing the application. Keep database permissions limited to the required database.

  1. 1Add domain
  2. 2Create database user
  3. 3Record credentials safely
Step 3

Finish delivery settings

Point DNS, request SSL and configure cron jobs only after confirming their command and schedule.

  1. 1Verify DNS
  2. 2Issue certificate
  3. 3Test scheduled task manually

Common questions

Resolve the details before changing production.

Why can I not see server settings?+

Your DirectAdmin role controls available tools. User accounts do not receive administrator functions.

Where are website files stored?+

Use the domain file manager path shown by DirectAdmin rather than assuming a path from another panel.

Can I import a cPanel backup directly?+

Cross-panel migration depends on available conversion tools and account contents. Request a migration review.

Ready when you are

Find the hosting that fits your next move.

Compare resources, full-term totals and renewals before you choose. WHMCS handles checkout and billing.
